Our approach: Through our own testing and client feedback, we gathered these comparison points to reflect not just product specs but how these tools perform in practice from an end-consumer perspective. This guide was put together by our product and commercial team who is exposed to the market on a daily basis.
We strive to be as honest as humanly possible and tell you where we don't have enough information to compare. We don't shy away from introducing direct competitors publicly, because we believe that if you run an underwear or swimwear business, Brarista is the most complete and helpful AI solution available. If you spot anything that needs clarification or updating, we welcome your feedback. This guide was last reviewed in May 2026.
Lingerie expertise to fill gaps and inconsistencies in your product data
Kiwi Size Chart is a well-built Shopify plugin. It lets you publish customisable size charts and a basic size recommender quickly and at low cost. However, Kiwi's size charts and recommender logic are built entirely from what your team inputs. Across the lingerie industry, only 10% of size charts are accurate enough to guide a confident purchase. A tool that publishes your existing size chart faster does not solve that problem.
Brarista starts before the size chart. During onboarding, our team consults directly on your product catalogue, sizing, and brand- and product-specific fit logic, identifying inconsistencies before they ever reach a shopper. That intelligence comes from two layers: a baseline of specialist lingerie knowledge co-built with professional fitters, and a brand-specific layer built in collaboration with your team. One informs the other.

Fitting-by-eye logic, the gold standard of boutique lingerie fitting rooms
Kiwi's size recommender takes a few simple inputs - weight, height, age - and matches them to the size most likely to fit. That produces useful directional signals, but a fundamentally different methodology from professional bra fitting.
Brarista's fitting quiz is anchored to the fit-by-eye standard used in specialist lingerie boutiques. The logic was co-created with professional bra fitters and accounts for variables that purchase data cannot reliably capture, including breast shape and life stage. A shopper's size and the bra that will actually work for them are often not the same thing, and that distinction is built into Brarista's core logic.
All-in-one conversational AI vs. a static sizing widget
Kiwi Size Chart is a widget: a shopper inputs their measurements and receives a size recommendation that carries across product pages.
Brarista holds a live conversation in your brand’s own voice. It handles edge cases ("I'm in between a 34D and a 32DD"), responds to context ("I need this for a backless wedding dress"), suggests sister sizes when a preferred size is out of stock, and guides shoppers through the kind of industry-specific nuance that a static widget cannot capture. For lingerie retailers, that means one conversational tool handling the full breadth of what a shopper needs, from "what size am I?" through to "would this work under a v-neck?" and "how do I exchange, and what size should I go for?"

Specialist fitting for every life stage and scenario
Brarista includes dedicated fitting logic for maternity, sports, post-surgery, and first bra shoppers. These are distinct conversations with distinct outputs, already live with clients in each of these categories.
Kiwi Size Chart is a horizontal fit platform covering any e-commerce product. It does not offer specialist logic for lingerie-specific scenarios. Collapsing them into a generalised flow produces recommendations that don't serve these shoppers well. And without specialist logic for different life stages, entire customer segments - the ones with the most specific needs - are left with a generic recommendation.
Brarista can be a standalone, but it is also built to fit seamlessly into your existing stack
For some lingerie retailers, Kiwi Size Chart and Brarista are not an either/or decision. Kiwi Size Chart's strength is its simplicity and low cost. It can handle basic sizing reference while Brarista handles the specialist and personalisation layer that Kiwi Size Chart was not built for.
Replacing your existing setup is not always the right answer, and Brarista does not ask you to. Brarista exists in different formats so you can choose what fits your setup. Each format caters to a specific customer journey and is fully customisable to your brand's tone of voice, styling, and fit philosophy. Read more about our products here.
